  1. I recently purchased the Aiersi mango-wood pineapple ukulele, and I’m really enjoying it. It sounds great, and has good intonation all the way up the neck. The strings were set just below 3 mm at the 12th fret, so it was nicely set up. I prefer ukuleles with a concert or tenor scale, but I really wanted a pineapple style instrument. The great news for me is that this one has fifteen frets rather than the usual twelve, so it feels more like a concert, allowing me to fingerpick and play chord melodies with the entire fretboard. The instrument is very well constructed, and the mango wood is just beautiful. Mine has some darker streaks — I don’t if this is spalting or just usual variation in this sort of wood, but I love it because it gives my instrument a one-of-a-kind feeling. I had seen on the Aiersi site that this was a laminate instrument, not solid wood, but laminate instruments can sound really good. This one does, and that build also makes it more durable. I took it outside on a tour of my city for a series of short videos (you can see them on the Aiersi Facebook and Instagram pages), and the tuning held up, despite the humidity here in Savannah, GA.

  2. This is an amazing first uke to get! Sound is great and vibrant, just what you expect from a soprano uke. Body is sleek and finished beautifully.
